Ages 5–16 · Three terms a year

Junior Cricket Program

One pathway, five levels — from a first swing at age 5 to high-performance cricket at 14 and beyond. Players are placed by age at first, then by ability as they progress.

Tailored to every journey

The Junior Cricket Program is organised into five session types. Placement is based initially on age and transitions to ability-based placement as players progress, so every child trains at the level that suits them. The program runs across three terms each year and is open to SCC members and non-members alike.

The journey has three broad stages: a fun-first start for ages 5–10, structured academy training for ages 10–14, and a high-performance tier for players 14 and up.

Pathway

Where the pathway leads

The Junior Cricket Program sits inside the SCC Cricket Pathway. Above the junior line, the SCC Cricket Section fields a full landscape of senior cricket to grow into.

Beneath the senior line sit the U19 women's team and the U15, U17 and U19 men's teams, plus the U9 (softball), U11 and U13 academy squads — so there is a team for every step of the journey.

*To take part in senior matches and training at the SCC, players need to be a Junior or Senior Cricket Section member.

Senior Cricket Section

  • 8 Men's league teams
  • 2 Women's league teams
  • 1 Social team — Saturday XI
  • 2 shadow friendly teams (Leopards & Caracals)

Adult players

The academy is for players aged 5–16, but adults are very welcome at the club. Grown-ups join through the SCC Cricket Section, which runs both league and social cricket.
